| Thomas D. Carmon Artist Statement Thomas Carmon (born 1956 in De Smet South Dakota), graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. After college he joined the United States Army, and severed four years as a medic. After his discharged from the Army Thomas moved to Orlando Florida and persuaded a career in graphic arts. He later left that career to obtain a nursing degree. Today Thomas continues to practice nursing and has never stop working on improving his skills as an artist. The choice of nature’s flowers was just a coincidence; it was a topic that he has used to develop his style of blending the paints for color and texture. He uses various mediums from watercolors / acrylics, and recently begun to work water based oils. His work is created on panel board to stretched canvas. He has a love for the impressionism era, and continually strives to incorporate that into his own personal artistry. |
